DJ Normal 4 – Hu Strike

Electronic club music has been with us for almost 40 years, yet despite almost 4 decades of innovation and genre diversification producers still can’t resist those original pioneering sounds. Sounds that, when executed well like ‘DJ Normal 4 – Hu Strike’, will be with us for many more years to come.

Upon first listen we instantly assumed ‘Hu Strike’ was a long lost 90’s rave classic. However upon further investigation it transpires that DJ Normal 4 is a present day DJ and producer, who also co-created the 90’s referencing label ‘Aiwo Rec’. A label we featured in 2016 for it’s raving Forum – Forum EP. And like the Forum EP ‘Hu Strike’ is a high energy mix of hardcore drums – the sort you’d imagine ‘Special Request’ stashing beneath his pillow, acid bleeps – that would have Danny Rampling scrambling to put on a party and progressive undertones that would have you reaching for your Northern Exposure compilation.

Yes this record may not be particularly innovative and true DJ Normal 4 may not be remembered in 20 years time for pioneering a new sound. But not everything in life has to be ground breaking, sometimes it just needs to be good. And ‘Hu Strike’ is good… more than good, it’s a sure fire dance floor vanquisher.
