Last week Radio 1 featured Duke Dumont in their ‘Future Stars of 2013’ series. This week it is the turn of the nailed on pick for future star of 2013 and beyond. Not only is George Fitzgerald an extremely talented producer, combining dance floor weight with headphone melody and depth, he is a sublime selector.
Having admired his sounds since Hearts on his own ‘Man Make Music’ label we have played everything he has put out since. Fitzgerald like many new UK producers made his first foray’s into the wider world via the UK Bass scene and unlike some of his contemporaries he has not quite enjoyed the same level of hype and success, however we can safely tell you that he is a Future Star, we even featured him in our ‘Electronic Artist of the Week Series‘ back in November 2011. If Fitzgerald is a new name to you, check his records Hearts, Shackled, Feel Like, Lights Out, Needs You, Every Inch.
George has made this mix represent where he is at as an artist at this moment in time. Dropping unreleased material from himself and his contemporaries, such as Scuba, Huxley, Midland and Bicep and weaving it all into a textbook builder, reminding us of those early Northern Exposure mixes by Sasha & Digweed.
