London based club night and record label the ‘Church‘ keep the faith to their growing reputation, with another credible and danceable slice of underground electronic club music. First up on Church was the infuriatingly talented 15 year old Happa, and this time they have enlisted the services of another equally talented fresh face, ‘Rumah‘.
Stutter / Murmur is the kind of debut that many would be producers dream of as they slave away in their bedroom studio. Across the two track release Rumah has managed to combine a contemporary feel without getting weighed down by what are rapidly becoming bass music clichés, i.e. Stutter / Murmur isnt just sparse production, heavy bass and a questionably un-danceable groove. Rather Rumur has crafted two beefed up techno rollers that are aimed squarely at the floor and deserve to gain spins beyond the niche bass fraternity. For those who are feeling the work of South London Ordnance, Paleman, Beneath, Alfie and company, this is essential.
