Major Lazer – “Jump Up” (Thom Yorke Remix)
Major Lazer have just released their ‘Lazers Never Die EP’ sporting three new tracks and two remixes.
Perhaps the most interesting track on the EP is the Thom Yorke remix of Jump Up. Jump Up is very much in title as it is in listening and therefore not a sentiment you would often associate with one of music’s more introspective characters. However despite this somewhat odd alliance Thom Yorke manages to expertly tame the source material and weave in his bleepy, moody Eraser type melancholy to good effect. Jump Up Sit Down seems an apt four word summary of this remix.
