Huxley teams up with long-time producer buddy Shenoda to deliver two dancefloor centric slices of garage powered house. Its fair to say that both tracks are very of the moment, crisp clean sing-a-long vocals, garage style percussion and a nice subby low end to keep things sufficiently tethered to the underground, sort of record you could see Disclosure rinsing for all its worth. On first listen we were a little skeptical, especially as this release is coming via the highly visible Defected Records, however despite both tracks overtly conspicuous vocals the records shuffling garage underbelly calms those initial fear’s. Premier is probably our pick of the two track EP with its comparatively more subtle construction and hypnotically smooth sub layer.
Expect to hear this record in heavy rotation across the remaining summer months and deep into the remainder of the year, set to be another big record for Tring’s Huxley.
