Huxley surged into the lime light in 2012 with arguably one of the biggest club smashes of 2012 ‘Let It Go’. A track that featured in many an end of year list, we placed it a No.5, whilst it also received a DJ Mag nomination for ‘Best Single of the Year’. Also with a top 70 finish in RA’s Top 100 DJs 2012 list, it is fair to say there is considerable anticipation for what Michael Dodman aka Huxley has planned for the forthcoming year.
It would appear he is starting 2013 in a similar fashion by announcing his first release of the year will be coming via Hypercolour’. Titled “Bellywedge EP” it features 2 tracks ‘Bellywedge & Little Things’, of which both have already seen action via Dusky and George Fitzgeralds recent Essential Mixes. ‘Little Things’ in particular, is the one to get excited about with Huxley managing to blend together the staple elements of old skool garage and deep house into an upfront anthem. With this release Huxley is nonchalantly maintaining his 2012 momentum, making him a top contender for 2013 honours. You can catch Huxley alongside Maya Jane Coles at Blah Blah Blah in March.
