Hackman is an interesting artist as he promised much back in 2011, seducing us with his still fresh sounding ‘Agree to Disagree‘ and ‘Close‘ singles, there was even meant to be an album ‘As Above, So Below’, however, unless we missed it this album never actually materialised? Since then things have been a little quiet, with his most notable recent release the ominously growling Tessela collaboration ‘Feel Like Loving Me‘, which we’d recommend if you like your beats a little darker.
‘No More’ is Hackman’s first official release since mid 2012 and has that ominous drive of ‘Feel Like Loving Me’, however this time the gathering gloom is unable to take hold as an unashamedly gospel type vocal pieces through and sheds light on proceedings, whilst a sparsely used synth sprinkles additional hope across an otherwise foreboding back drop.
