Alpines + Maya Jane Coles - Why

Alpines, the south London electronic duo are launching a series of collaborative covers and new material to help showcase some of the UK’s most promising producers and DJ’s. The first of these covers is Carly Simons – ‘Why’ with the increasingly global Maya Jane Coles. Given that the Alpine sound is quite ethereal and epic in its own right Maya Jane Coles makes an obvious fit for the first in this series, bringing her crisp beats and lush pads to the mix. As covers go this is a pretty special piece of progressive music that feels as though both acts have taken reference from the melancholy lyrics and built a smooth and deep electronic track to fit those sentiments.
