House Music has been with us since the early 80’s most famously originating in Chicago and Detroit, USA. Since the 80’s House has become arguably the most prevalent and dominant source of Dance music in Clubs the world over, shifting through various hybrids but in the main combining a solid 4/4 beat with funky overtones and vocal refrains.
In recent times we have seen the emergence of Electro, Tech and Fidget House. These genres were off shoots from the more popularized commercial House and quickly resonated with a more underground indie audience, an audience including ourselves that shied away from the more the commercial melodic records in favour of heavy basslines, growling synths and a little wobble.
However it would now appear that we have come full-circle with both indie-dance artists and fans embracing whole heartedly the more commercial sounding house. With the likes of Boys Noize, Evil Nine, Riva Starr, Jesse Rose, Round Table Knights and Turbo Recordings all releasing House tracks, whilst the blogs are hyping the likes of Duck Sauce, Tensnake, Azari & III and Homework.
