It has been a while since we last heard from The Black Ghosts, but they are back with a new single ‘Water Will Find a Way’ taken from the new album ‘When Animals Stare’, due for release May/June this year on Southern Fried Records. For those of you who dont know The Black Ghosts they first sprung upon us just as everyone was going a bit Electro/Fidget crazy, unleashing a number of electro-indie winners such as Any Way you Choose To, Repetition Kills You, and I Want Nothing. Despite the relative success of their first album they somewhat faded into the night, suggesting that The Black Ghosts was never meant to be more than a one off project, not so.
On first listen to the new single it would appear The Ghosts are in a slightly more laid back mood this time round. Water Will Find a Way is built around a 60’s sounding cinematic string breakdown, a shuffling Jazz type drum pattern and a repeating classic piano riff, combining to give a sense of reflection. However despite these restrained moments you can hear the trademark electro horns breaking through the mix suggesting that this track may not fully represent the new Album.
