The enigmatic Legowelt is back in LP format and once again his idiosyncratic sound makes musical adventurers such as Thom Yorke et al, look positively pop in comparison. Yet our pick from the LP, Legowelt – Axumisia V S612, is perhaps his most linear and accessible tune to date.

‘Legowelt – Legendary Freaks In The Trash Of Time’ is every bit as imaginative and maddening as you’d expect, with cinematic overtones, wild percussion and haphazard beats all colliding in a menagerie of sonic evolution. Yet despite all the twists and turns Legowelt – Axumisia V S612 is a deviously disguised main room, dare I say it, banger. Yes the BPM is not quite in the typical 120-130 banger territory, but the main hook undeniably is. Perhaps a down tempo early hours headliner?
