Raf Rundell – Sweet Cheeks

Looking for a quality pop record that is both catchy and cool? Well look no further, we may have bagged one for you. Formally of ‘The 2 Bears’ Raf Rundell – Sweet Cheeks, taken from his recently released LP ‘Stop Lying’ is a grooving House Music, Pop beast. Think Chromeo meets Mark Ronson meets Daft Punk Disco bassline.

Now we have to admit that when ‘The 2 Bears’ ceased to exist, we figured that was the final curtain call for the duo’s less illustrious partner – Raf Rundell. We assumed that his fellow bear, Joe Goddard, a long established solo artist and member of Hot Chip, was the primary creative force. However Sweet Cheeks suggests that such an assumption was grossly ill-judged. Apologies Raf…

Sweet Cheeks is arguably more satisfying than anything Joe Goddard or The 2 Bears ever managed and for some it maybe the ‘Uptown Funk’ follow up that never was. Risky comparison we know, but lets be honest, whether you like to admit it or not, that was a great pop record.

So if you like Chromeo, Ronson, Bruno or a Getting Lucky Daft Punk, this is the record for you.
