Car Seat Headrest ‘Bodys’ – pumping on your stereo
“Think LCD meets young Beck meets Graham Coxon. Pounding beat, root note bassline & an earnestly, almost faltering lead vocal provide a welcomingly lo-fi commentary on relationship. A refreshing sound in a world that all too often air brushes out our raw beauty & honest vulnerabilities. Listen Now: Car Seat Headrest ‘Bodys”…
Car Seat Headrest ‘Bodys’ [Twin Fantasy]
Our first encounter with Car Seat Headrest was the ‘Park Stage’ Glastonbury 2016. I wouldn’t say we were blown away by that performance. However there was enough on offer for us to want to explore their music further. In particular we rested upon their single ‘Fill in the Blank‘, taken from their LP ‘Teens of Denial’. Its punky lo-fi indie stylings won us over and ever since we’ve been causal fans.

Since ‘Teens of Denial’ Car Seat Headrest have begun to establish themselves beyond their cult online following and have subsequently released their LP ‘Twin Fantasy’. Technically a reissue of the original 2011 release. Although much of it has been re-recorded and re-mastered, making it their second LP proper to the majority of us. From that LP ‘Bodys’ really stood out, mainly because of its insistent beat, LCD conversational vocals and thrashy Coxon like guitar. And if you’re new to the Car Seat sound, makes a great place to start.
