The Lawrence Brothers aka Disclosure first revealed their electronic wares in 2010 with their distinct ‘Offline Dexterity‘ single on Moshi Moshi Records. Offline Dexterity instantly established Guy and Howard as electronic musicians with a freshness and maturity that belied their years, unlike many young musicians they have not simply digested their direct influences, in this case bass music, and regurgitated their own inferior copy, rather they have taken the raw bass template and sculpted their own sound from it. Combining a seasonal mix of crisp beats, percussion and warm analog tinged bass, overlaid with succint vocal loops and underpinned by a solid groove, Disclosure have found their sound resonating far and wide, with the preeminent XLR8R, Pitchfork, and 6 music featuring their records.
Since ‘Offline Dexterity’ Disclosure have continued to explore their sound culminating in two progressively stronger releases in 2011, ‘Carnival / I Love….That You Know‘, followed by a free 5 track EP on their Facebook Like page. Since these they have found themselves supporting and playing alongside the likes of SBTRKT, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, The 2 Bears and Annie Mac among others, and with their strongest single to date having just dropped ‘Tenderly / Flow’ and the equally acclaimed Jessie Ware remix set for an April release, Disclosure are looking good for an exciting 2012 and beyond.
