BBB Recommendations for Glastonbury 2016… Glastonbury is a bit like a cuppa on a hot day, the Queens speech at Christmas or England missing a penalty - it is a fundamental part of the very fabric that makes us British, and we at BBB are proudly attending for the 5th time this year. And in time honoured tradition we've left our preparations for departure to the very last minute, which considering this years forecast - rain would you believe!, might be an error. However we can't possibly anticipate such travails when we have a lineup longer than the que to get your phone charged, to sift through. In no particular order: Mosh, ... Read more / Preview track

Four Tet – Evening Side (Oneohtrix Point Never Edit) | New Music Never quickly scan you twitter feed just before hitting the hay, unless of course, like us right now, discovering new music is as enthralling at 3pm in the afternoon as it is at 3am in the morning. Literally out of nowhere Four Tet reveals, via Twitter, this 'Oneohtrix Point Never Edit' of his recent Evening Side release, whilst simultaneously uploading it to Soundcloud and making it available to purchase on iTunes.  As the title suggests this is an edit not a remix, and therefore what you're essentially getting is all the original ingredients tightly packed into a more palatable bite size ... Bloc. & BBB Catch Up with Lakker | Interview Festival Season is almost upon us and one of the first on the UK calendar is one of the more intriguing UK festival stories of fame, fortune, disaster and resurrection. From its inception in 2006 Bloc rose to prominence in a mountainous height of critical acclaim, but unfortunately, as is so often the case, what goes up must come down. In itself this descent doesn't always have to be terminal, but all to often the dizzying effects of great success unwittingly allow hubris, over confidence and money to erode the organisations once proud foundations. Without this sure footing intact many ... Read more / Preview track

Jamie XX – Dance music is important to me… it just makes me happy In 2015 Jamie XX conducted an interview with 'The Fader' where he stated "Dance music is important to me because it just makes me happy. There's not that many things that make me happy". This statement immediately struck a chord, no pun intended, and got me thinking about my own personal feelings towards music. Whilst internally philosophising this point it just so happened that twitter was having a collective melt down as many respected publications and commentators were shamelessly reporting that Kanye West had changed the name of his next LP from Swish to Wave, and in that moment, which ... Burial & Four Tet – Unreleased (Preview) Kieran Hebdan aka Four Tet has just released his latest LP 'Beautiful Rewind', which can be streamed in its entirety (here), and for those of us who have tracked Four Tet's output for sometime, will be aware that this another in a progressively long line of collaborations with the Banksy of the electronic world, Burial. For us the unveiling of this track raises a couple of interesting observations. Firstly in the build up to the new LP Four Tet made quite a forceful statement in regards to his marketing strategy "no pre order, no youtube trailers, no itunes stream, no spotify, no amazon deal, ...
