Percussive Sunsetting House: LNS & DJ Sotofett – Jugando Con Fuego Did you love DJ Sotofett's epic slow burning 'Current 82'? Then his 11 minute LNS & DJ Sotofett - Jugando Con Fuego collaboration is the perfect companion piece. DJ Sotofett propelled himself into our affections with his gloriously sprawling slow burner 'Current 82'. A record that harked back to the glory days of mid-90s prog house, with its moody pads, languid drums and considered main hook. No hype, no fanfare just gorgeous Boards of Canada type depth and poise. Jugando Con Fuego clocks in at just under 12 minutes and like a considered lover is in no hurry to hit climax. That said ... OUT TODAY: ‘Blah Blah Blah 15’ Cropper – Sunlight + Hackman Remix Searching strings, live double bass Jazz like keys and a whispy yet penetrating vocal all conspire to dazzle the senses on our stunning 15th record: Cropper - Sunlight F.T A.Z. Cropper - Sunlight is out today on limited vinyl, backed by the dazzling Deep House 3am curveball 'Shade' and the sizzling Hackman remix. The EP was mastered by the highly respected Calyx analogue mastering studio, and whilst we're not against digital there's no denying that the vinyl is infinitely superior. Admittedly our opinion is perhaps a little biased, much like your mum saying you're the best looking ... Read more / Preview track

DJ Seinfeld announces debut LP ‘Time Spent Away From U If BBB were still putting on parties, DJ Seinfeld would be first on our wish list. For the past 18 months he has been consistently costing us a fortune in vinyl purchases, and now he has just announced his debut LP, DJ Seinfeld - Time Spent Away From U via Lobster Theremin and Meda Fury. And it is sounding every bit the party colossus we were hoping for. Time Spent Away From U is a High Octane mix of hardcore breakbeats, slamming 4x4 House, mid 90's Korg M1 Rave riffs and of course his trademark lo-fi scratchiness. According to the official blurb the record is is - "an extended ... Read more / Preview track

Scratchy peak time: Legowelt – Axumisia V S612 The enigmatic Legowelt is back in LP format and once again his idiosyncratic sound makes musical adventurers such as Thom Yorke et al, look positively pop in comparison. Yet our pick from the LP, Legowelt - Axumisia V S612, is perhaps his most linear and accessible tune to date. 'Legowelt - Legendary Freaks In The Trash Of Time' is every bit as imaginative and maddening as you'd expect, with cinematic overtones, wild percussion and haphazard beats all colliding in a menagerie of sonic evolution. Yet despite all the twists and turns Legowelt - Axumisia V S612 is a deviously disguised ... Listen: Joy Orbison – Dekmantel Selectors 004 Joy Orbison and Dekmantel join forces for the Dutch labels 4th 'Selectors' compilation. Joy Orbison - Dekmantel Selectors 004 is, as you'd expect a deep and varied collection of rhythms and genres. "Touching on everything from shuffling garage and loopy techno to booming jungle and a number of distinctly British hybrids, it's a diverse collection to be sure..." . Dekmantel Selectors launched in 2015 with Motor City Drum Ensemble behind the controls, followed by Young Marco & Marcel Dettmann. All of which have achieved a 4.1/5 or higher via the industry benchmark online music ... Read more / Preview track

Shadowy yet glorious Techno: Dorisburg – Venom To steal Phonica Records description: "Dorisburg - Venom burrows deep into an underground cavern, bass pulses dripping like stalactites into endless black pools of atmosphere". Dorisburg first came to our attention via his debut LP Irrbloss via John Talabot's 'Hivern Discs'. It was a cracking record with cuts Kassiopeia and Gloson perhaps mostly closely resembling this latest outing. As the Phonica description suggests Venom is dark, brooding and most decidedly birthed in the Techno underworld. Whilst the flip 'Serum', although slightly less shadowy, is not exactly the light antidote as ... Read more / Preview track

Serious dancefloor heat: Italo Johnson – Vol 11 Please sir can I have some more. Sure, no problem, here's your 11th helping. Italo Johnson serves up yet another deliciously irresistible dance tool: Italo Johnson - Vol 11 As limited vinyl series go this is perhaps the most consistent and reliable one out there. We personally own at least 4 Italo Johnson instalments, and will be most certainly adding a 5th for the A-Side alone. Furthermore Vol 11 continues our unwittingly planned series - 'what made dance music so great in the first place'. Like our articles earlier this week on Kink - Perth (Beat Mix) and Rimbaudian - Unknown, we ... Read more / Preview track

DJ Seinfeld aka Rimbaudian – Unknown [Hardcore / House] Need a no nonsense hardcore tinged dancefloor assassinator? Then DJ Seinfeld, the man with the seemingly largest hard-drive of unreleased music in clubland, has just the weapon you're looking for. Rimbaudian - Houz Low EP . It's probably fair to say that since late 2016 and early 2017 DJ Seinfeld has easily become one of the more recognisable underground names. By which we mean that amongst his piers, Ross From Friends, DJ Boring and the like he's the one with the greater output, recognition and therefore booking potential. On this blog alone we have featured his records: DJ Seinfeld - ... Read more / Preview track
