DJ SEINFELD Season 1 EP – Konets Sveta Minimix There seems to be a bit of a trend developing for naming yourself after a mid 90's American sitcom. We're not sure who was first but now we have 'Ross From Friends' and the subject of todays post, DJ Seinfeld. Whats next? MC Cheers, or perhaps DJ Crane... Who knows! As long as everybody knows your name, thats the important thing, right? Well and the music. So does the latest 90's sitcom riffing producer get stuck in second gear, or is DJ Seinfeld - Season 1 EP more than just an attention grabbing gimmick? A few weeks back we commented on the fact that there appeared to be a growing ... Read more / Preview track

Fort Romeau & Massimiliano Pagliara aka The Violet Hour – Ultraviolet EP Not sure how we missed this one. Fort Romeau, an artist we have admired since his 2015 LP 'Insides' and more recently for his sublime Secrets & Lies EP, has teamed up with Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara to create: The Violet Hour - Ultraviolet EP. Released by the synth-tastic House Music label Cocktail d'Amore, a label we featured last year with Chymera's - Rainbow Brite, should mean we can expect more synth action than a group of kids riding BMX's and chasing strange things? Fort Romeau has long been known for his love of transistors, valves, twinkling lights and ... Read more / Preview track

Tessela & Truss aka Overmono – Powder Dry Like your dance music raw, euphoric and with a beating heart of 90's hardcore? We certainly do. There's nothing quite like those early 90's underground house/rave records - infectious. Back then it wasn't about chin scratching admiration or immaculate protools production. Records were written to make you dance and have a good time. Yet as the years have rolled on it often feels as though that founding principle has been swamped in a sea of overly heightened self-awareness. And like a pubescent teenager with image anxiety, modern records all too often limply pander to a need to fit in. That ... Read more / Preview track

[Footwork & Jungle] Jlin – Nyakinyua Rise & Mic Mills – Pig Of A Man Are the sub zero temperatures and grey mornings driving you to the point of emigration? Much of the music we listen to or are forced to listen to whilst navigating our daily routine is highly polished, linear and safe. In fact recently it ... Read more / Preview track

John Talabot & Axel Boman announce Talaboman – The Night Land LP Earlier yesterday John Talabot and Axel Boman finally announced details of their long awaited return as Talaboman. A collaboration that first emerged in 2014 with their instant underground hit Sideral. Sideral further established both artists as significant contributors to the underground dance scene, and subsequently had many, including ourselves, eagerly anticipating its follow up. That follow up has been 2 years in the making and has arrived in the often tricky dance music format of an album. So can Talaboman - The Night Land deliver where many electronic LPs have not? In approaching ... Read more / Preview track

Rave tinged Techno with Radio Slave – Another Club Yesterday we referenced Daft Punk's unreleased 1994 demo 'Drive' in relation to Why UK Club Culture is Dying? And today our featured new music, Radio Slave - Another Club, is a mid 90's infused Techno/Rave banger talking about going clubbing. Radio Slave - Another Club is part of a double A Side celebrating 100 releases on Radio Slaves highly regarded Rekids imprint. A track that if Christopher Nolan were to make it into a movie, he could call it 'Techno Begins'. Raw vintage kicks relentlessly pound you with the force of a coastal storm surge, whilst an insistent voice endlessly intones ... Read more / Preview track

Daft Punk – Drive (Unreleased 1994) Soma Like the post Christmas fitness regime January has been a very dry month for new music. Apart from the recently featured 80's synth house 'Aquazoo' via Bristol's Banoffee Pies Records and Readings BBC Music Sound of 2017 contenders, The Amazons, we have found precious little else. Thankfully whilst trawling the net today we stumbled across Soma Records forthcoming Soma25 Compilation. Celebrating 25 years of existence and perhaps most significantly being the first label to release a Daft Punk record, the compilation features a Slam re-interpretation of the previously unreleased track: Daft ...
