39 Must See Acts at Glastonbury 2017 – Playlist It's that time again, nope not complaining that it's too hot and then subsequently complaining the hot weather never lasts, it's Glastonbury time of course. This will be our 6th visit to Worthy Farm and in time honoured tradition we've compiled a last minute playlist of who we're hoping to catch. This years playlist covers everything from punk, through country to pop and beyond. It's obvious, its random, it includes Busted, yes Busted...who doesn't secretly love the Year 3000, and it is of course banging. Considering our playlist includes 39 different artists we're not going to waste your ... Read more / Preview track

Listen New Music: Mathew Jonson, Bicep, Hodge, Daphni New Music from 4 top line names: Mathew Jonson - The Prophet, Bicep - Aura, Hodge - No Single Thing and Daphni - Face to Face. All naturally caught our eye due to the names involved but not necessarily our ear. There are no stinkers here, no point wasting words on a stinker. That said do all 4 pass our - 'would we pay to own it on vinyl', test? Mathew Jonson - The Prophet Opening with what can only be described as true analog noodling The Prophet suggests Mathew Jonson is in free form mode once again. For anyone who watched his FACTmag against the clock video will know that Mr ... Read more / Preview track

Essential New Music – Bandcamp Bandcamp is essentially what Soundcloud was 8 years ago, fresh, exciting and all about discovering new music. Unfortunately Soundcloud has since lost some of that original lustre, allowing Bandcamp to step into the breach. Like Soundcloud in its prime, BC is a platform for expression and discovery. If you've written some music, but dont have a record deal then Bandcamp is where you need to be. That's not to say that Bandcamp is just wall-to-wall wannabe try hards who should just get a real job. It's also a great community for signed performers and established labels. But thats only words, ... Read more / Preview track

Soaring acoustic Anguish: Billy Lockett – More Ever broken up with someone and missed them so much that the anguish physically hurts? Or perhaps someone has passed away unexpectantly and you feel as though you heart has been torn asunder. It's in times like these that we seek comfort from Friends, Family, Vices and often Music. It would appear Billy Lockett - More is expressing just this. Life is both beautiful and devastating; we only have to flick on the news to know that whilst we maybe doing ok others most decidable are not and vice versa. Only the other day we discussed if 'Music can actually Change the World' an article in which ... Read more / Preview track

Dynamic percussive House: Novio Dub Tribe – Kakiuchi Dub If thumping kicks, crisp percussion, deep atmospherics, strong groove and smatterings of melody make you go weak at the knee's, then you may want to sit down before spinning todays recommendation: Novio Dub Tribe - Kakiuchi Dub. Novio Dub Tribe - Kakiuchi Dub is the lead track from the AKIBA EP and it's Microhouse at its finest, well at least we think it is, as truth be told Microhouse is not a term we use that often. And with that in mind perhaps a better analogy would be to compare this record with an elaborate DJ Drum Tool or a bass led Pearson Sound, minus the perplexing the twists and ... Death From Above 1979 – Freeze Me out this Friday Move over Royal Blood, the original shouty punk rock duo are back. Following their comeback in 2014 with the LP 'Physical World' it would appear that the Toronto based Canadians are ready to do battle once again. No ten year hibernation this time, with Death From Above 1979 - Freeze Me due to drop this Friday. For those who know Death From Above will agree there's not a great deal more that needs to be said, other than we should all collectively set our alarms and dig out the ear plugs for this Friday. However for the uninitiated then our earlier Royal Blood inference is a good a place ... Read more / Preview track

Listen: Prophets of Rage – Unfuck The World 'The World Is Not Going To Change Itself - That's Up To You', is the closing line on Prophets of Rage incendiary new record - Unfuck The World. With a video directed by the equally polarising Michael Moore, Prophets of Rage - Unfuck The World is a timely and vehement public address call to the biggest cancer of the 21st century, APATHY. A sentiment recently echoed in the Shame single we reviewed earlier this month 'Tasteless'. Yet despite all the rage, shouty vocals and swear words, does this type of music really change anything? In the year 2000 the global fear for the future was a ... Read more / Preview track

Minimal Tech-House hypnosis from Paris: YYY – YYY 797A Salut... Need some bouncing, grooving, minimal tech-house? Then Parisian born YYY - YYY 797A may just be your jam. It's most certainly been ours since featuring their similarly titled YYY 398A in the 47th edition of the WeAreBlahBlahBlah mixtape series. And because of that feature YYY France has now become one of those enigmatic underground labels that we hope can become the pièce de résistance of our record collection. Like 'YYY 398 A' which you can preview , YYY 797A has an immediate head nodding, toe tapping bounce to it. Suggesting that YYY, who ever they may be, have ... Read more / Preview track
