Bicep presents Lone – Mixtape FMB 69 Im sure you're aware that BBB are huge Bicep and Lone fans. Which in a way is a bit of an oxymoron, in that Bicep tend to create main room anthems, such as Isaac Tichauer - Higher Level (Bicep Remix), whilst Lone tends to explore and occupy the spaces between such records, take Lone - Vapour Trail as a case in point. Yet despite these obvious divergences in sound there are actually some compelling similarities. Similarities that make this newly found relationship an interesting and intriguing meeting of musical minds... Like any successful relationship there always need to be some level ... Flume – Skin Companion EP II [ Preview ] Naturally Flume needs no further blog type biographical introduction. You should all know who he is by now. If not then we're not really sure what to tell you, other than you may need to put down your Coldplay and Adele CD's and come into the light, or in the case of, Flume - Skin Companion EP II, the semi darkness. Our first introduction to his signature sound was the superb 2012 hit 'Holdin On', which for us is still his best record. However despite such a high introductory watermark Flume has not suffered from the all to common pitfall of 2nd album expectational crisis. Last years LP ... Read more / Preview track

Fort Romeau & Massimiliano Pagliara aka The Violet Hour – Ultraviolet EP Not sure how we missed this one. Fort Romeau, an artist we have admired since his 2015 LP 'Insides' and more recently for his sublime Secrets & Lies EP, has teamed up with Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara to create: The Violet Hour - Ultraviolet EP. Released by the synth-tastic House Music label Cocktail d'Amore, a label we featured last year with Chymera's - Rainbow Brite, should mean we can expect more synth action than a group of kids riding BMX's and chasing strange things? Fort Romeau has long been known for his love of transistors, valves, twinkling lights and ... Read more / Preview track

Tessela & Truss aka Overmono – Powder Dry Like your dance music raw, euphoric and with a beating heart of 90's hardcore? We certainly do. There's nothing quite like those early 90's underground house/rave records - infectious. Back then it wasn't about chin scratching admiration or immaculate protools production. Records were written to make you dance and have a good time. Yet as the years have rolled on it often feels as though that founding principle has been swamped in a sea of overly heightened self-awareness. And like a pubescent teenager with image anxiety, modern records all too often limply pander to a need to fit in. That ... Read more / Preview track

Sampha – No One Knows Me Like The Piano [ Process ] Today we're feeling reflective and a little despondent about how life has turned out. Only last week I met with my Uni friends to celebrate our 20 year anniversary of our first coming together. A coming together that has now coincided with both Trainspotting movies. And like the second movie we found ourselves reflecting on some great memories and some difficult times in the 20 years past. A bittersweet reunion that mirrored, minus the heroin, the lives of Renton and co. Yet despite these conflicting emotions the legendary record, Underworld - Born Slippy, musically anchored both us and the ... Read more / Preview track

Call Super – fabric 92 [ Mixtape ] Fabric is well and truly back, and although the music did momentarily have to stop, the fat lady never actually got to sing. As a result Nina Kraviz closed out 2016 with her fabric 91 mix and rising talent, Call Super, who we featured last week with his Telephones remix, has been drafted in to deliver the series 2017 opener: Call Super - fabric 92. Not heard of Call Super? Then check here his Dekmantel record - Nervous Sex Traffic. A release that came 5th in our Best Tracks of 2016. As yet an official preview of the upcoming fabric 92 mixtape is to be provided. However with a little ... Read more / Preview track

New Music – Roman Flugel, Ghost Culture, Matrixxman, Call Super This weeks new music round up see's Roman Flugel and Andrew Weatherall remixing Phil Keiran's - Blinded By The Sun. Ghost Culture is back on Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound imprint with a new sparkling techno 12. Matrixxman is getting all 303 acid for Dekmantel, and last but not least Call Super goes Balearic on his remix for Gerd Jansons Running Back Records. Towards the end of 2016 Phil Kieran released his 3rd LP - Blinded By The Sun via Jamie Jones Hot Creations. Truth be told it was not an LP that particularly grabbed us by the short and curlies and demanded we pay it heed. It was all just ... Read more / Preview track

[Footwork & Jungle] Jlin – Nyakinyua Rise & Mic Mills – Pig Of A Man Are the sub zero temperatures and grey mornings driving you to the point of emigration? Or is the prospect of another year of office drudgery or impending exams enough to make you want to rip of all you clothes and scream "Im on Fire". Perhaps, perhaps not. Either way what we all need from time to time is a bit of jump start to get us moving. Jlin - Nyakinyua Rise & Mic Mills - Pig Of A Man could be just the jolt you are looking for? Much of the music we listen to or are forced to listen to whilst navigating our daily routine is highly polished, linear and safe. In fact recently it ... Read more / Preview track
