BBB Recommendations for Glastonbury 2016… Glastonbury is a bit like a cuppa on a hot day, the Queens speech at Christmas or England missing a penalty - it is a fundamental part of the very fabric that makes us British, and we at BBB are proudly attending for the 5th time this year. And in time honoured tradition we've left our preparations for departure to the very last minute, which considering this years forecast - rain would you believe!, might be an error. However we can't possibly anticipate such travails when we have a lineup longer than the que to get your phone charged, to sift through. In no particular order: Mosh, ... Read more / Preview track

Get your TUNES pressed on VINYL for free with ‘VF Selects’ As Beck would say 'Wow', for once an initiative to get your music noticed that doesn't require you to essentially promote a third party by pimping out all your friends and family via social media. This is a competition that's not about FACT Mag, Vinyl Factory or even their supporting crowdfunding site BORN.com, in fact (no pun intended) it's not really a competition at all as you don't even have to put forward your own music.  It is simply an opportunity to see deserving new music pressed to vinyl, for FREE. Instinctively, especially if you're British, you're probably wondering what's the ... Read more / Preview track

J-Zone ‘Im Sick Of Rap’ (Fish-N-Grits) | Hip-Hop / Rap At times the music biz does it utmost best to make you despise music. The problem is the word 'biz' or business, this one small word means that music can often cease to be art as it shamelessly morphs into a saleable commodity. The net result is that product placement, marketing, endorsements and who you know replace integrity, creativity, individuality and genuine mutual respect. All to often, regardless of rank or status, you'll find artists to bloggers and everything in-between more eager than a Russian athlete to do what it takes to steal the prize. Its this mentality that ruins what ... Read more / Preview track

Lnrdcroy ‘Ooze City’ (Mood Hut) | New Music Ever heard the Japanese term 'Wabi-Sabi', no, dont worry neither had we until we read Lnrdcroy's 2014 interview with Juno Plus. It's basic interpretation is 'the acceptance of transience and imperfection' or the acceptance of beauty within imperfection. A friend of Leonard Campbell aka Lnrdcroy introduced the concept to him in 2014 as a theory of dealing with the frustrations of writing music. The idea being that writing music is as much about the process as it is the finished composition and therefore if what you have been writing is not meeting, or falling short of your initial ... Todd Terje ‘Snooze 4 Love’ (Dixon Remix) | New Music It would appear Todd Terje has dug out his brightly coloured summer shirt and emphatically decided its time to get summery. First we had the jaunty acidic 'Beranek - Dra Te Hælvete' (Todd Terje acid radio edit), rapidly followed by The Big Cover Up EP and now  'Snooze 4 Love', the b-side to his 2011 break through moment Ragysh, gets a Dixon remix. Officially Dixons work is considered a remix, however it feels more like a retouch to us, other than a heavier kick and perhaps a more crystalline and sharp final finish Snooze 4 Love 2016 is really just Snooze 4 Love 2011 with a little more ... Champ – Find Your Feet (Self-Released) | Electronic Creativity is a beguiling mistress with it's tantalising promise of success and happiness. The problem is, like any mistress, it has numerous lovers, all of which are blinded by their own desire whilst they jostle amongst themselves for position. This intoxicating disposition is like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, seemingly within touching distance but more allusive than the little green fellow that left it there. Yet despite seemingly impossible odds some of us inextricably drawn to its siren like call, believing, how ever deep down, that someday we'll reach the end of that distant ... NEWS: DJ Shadow, Nils Frahm, Nonkeen, Midland, Tessela, Bicep With so much new music flooding our inbox and browser history, and considering that BBB is predominately a one man band these days, no accordions mind, we figured it best to do a weekly round up from time to time to ensure maximisation of your illegal social media time during office hours... This weeks round up includes a rather unexpected meeting of minds with a sinister DJ Shadow & Nils Frahm collaboration 'Bergschrund'. Not content with just working with the cut & paste master Nils Frahm also announces a second Nonkeen LP 'Oddments of the Gamble' via the ever forward thinking ... Read more / Preview track

Ardyn – Over The River (Aesop) | Alternative Since about the age of 8 music has always played a distinct role in my life, with each year and major life event since being marked by a particular song or album, all of which when played in the present day instantaneously transport me back to those cherished moments. In particular I remember, aged 8, playing my parents Thriller LP incessantly when ever friends were round; 'Beat It' being the most rinsed tune on that record, family holidays were Queen 'One Vision' and Phil Collins 'Another Day In Paradise - the only two tapes my dad seemed to own, there may have been an Elton John double ...
