Brodinski presents - Best of Everything Vol 2

Brodinski is back with 'Best of Everything' Vol 2, an exclusive collection of the best Rap and R&B remixes by some of the most talented producers of this year and next.

The rules were simple: Brodinski sent his favourite producers a selection of Hip Hop acapellas and they were invited to re-invent them. Over 17 producers took up the challenge and brought new life to these chart-friendly tracks, delivering 16 remixes including 12 exclusives.

BOYSNOIZE presents SUPER ACID

Acid House the sound that single handly ignited the club scene the world over. The Acid sound as it is now universally dubbed was the result of Chicago based DJ 'DJ Pierre' getting his hands on a Roland TB-303 in the mid 1980's and indulging in some bedroom knob tweaking. By 1986 he had released his first single titled Acid Tracks and the rest is History.

Fast Forward 24 years and Boys Noize has taken it upon himself to bring Acid into the present day for a whole new generation of listeners. Enlisting the help of some fellow producers he has compiled 13 fresh Acid tracks for his 'Super Acid' compilation.

WeAreBlahBlahBlah EP31 - Mixed Bowski (Blood Music)

We first came across Bowski when we downloaded 'Palms Out - Remix Sunday 151' which featured his remix of Caribou's - Sun. Although a track that has been over remixed, Bowski still demonstrated some nice touches whilst staying true to the original. Since then he has released the fantastic Leggings EP which managed to take all the elements which made Electro Fidget and Indie Dance exciting whilst avoiding the overplayed wonky, growling electro type sounds.

Up next is he Remix for 'XY-Me - B Acid' on Wax:On and his Cassius remix on Ed Banger, both out early January 2011, and both strongly tipped by us for heavy rotation.

Camel is rapidly becoming indispensable in our music libray with consistantly great EP's and mixtapes, and he is back again with a superb Winter mixtape on Mowgli's Deadfish podcast. This mix is a fantastic blend of house and tech-house that has real character and depth, unlike many other mixes out there Camel has managed to combine crisp beats and programming with real groove and bounce.

Chromeo feat. La Roux - Hot Mess (Duck Sauce Remix)

Well, first it was a re-vocalisation with La Roux and now we have Duck Sauce weighing in with a hefty remix of Chromeo's - Hot Mess. Personally I still prefer the original as this remix simply stripes out Elly's vocal and overlays it with a funk fuelled House track, having said that this is sure to spark a few dance off's at your local discotheque.

Camel - Speak Easy EP (Dead Fish)

Last time we spoke about Camel was in July of this year when he released the superb 'Melting Pot EP'. Melting Pot was more of the tech-house variety with the exception of the lead track 'Melting Pot' which had more of a Funk Disco vibe, and where that track left off this EP picks up. All three tracks on the EP have a strong Funk and Soul foundation and consequently a slightly more Housey vibe, which as we have mentioned before seems to be where everyone is heading at the moment. Standout track for us is the more techy of the three 'The Roots'.

Basement Jaxx - Dracula

Basement Jaxx our one of the UK's biggest electronic exports producing a number of Club Anthems over the years, such as 'Red Alert', 'Where's Your Head At', 'Do Your Thing', 'Good Luck' amongst others. However recent albums 'Crazy Itch Radio' and 'Scars' have not quite had the same impact as the previous albums, but dont let that fool you that the Brixton duo are no longer relevant. Their recent Essential Mix showed they still have their ear on the Dance Floor plus it show cased their new single 'Dracula'. Dracula is Basement Jaxx gone dark and is an exciting development in their musical journey. Having said this I think the first half of the track works better than the second and therefore I hope to hear some fresh edits and remixes in the coming weeks.

Lykke Li - “Get Some (Mike D Remix)”

Lykke Li is about to release her new album 'Wounded Rhymes' in 2011 and the new single 'Get Some' suggests a new found aggression, perhaps distancing herself a little from her very soft Twilight track 'Possibility'. Further enhancing this more aggressive stance is Mike D's (Beastie Boys) remix which re-works the track into an 808, Paper Planes type gun slinger. The single is out next week and comes packed with an exclusive Beck remix.

Round Table Knights - Say What?! Album Sampler

Round Table Knights have been with us for over 4 years now, initially banging out Baltimore type bootlegs 'Freak from Desire'. However since those early Institube beginnings they have targeted the more House and Tech end of the market with tracks like Calypso, Stomper and their recent all conquering remix of Ten Snake - Coma Cat. This has been a positive move as their profile and reputation has grown with every release and now they are ready to release their debut album 'Say What?!'. At times I have felt that RTK have somewhat followed the current trend and produced accordingly and the 3 track sampler below suggests no different, however all three tracks are top quality slices of house indicating a strong LP is to follow.

T-E-E-D - Household Goods EP

T-E-E-D or more commonly known 'Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs' has been one to watch for us since we saw him perform at the Great Escape festival earlier this year, we even managed to get him back to Digital in November for another of his Live / DJ sets. Live and in the studio T-E-E-D uses a pumping prog and tech platform from which he overlays rich melodic sounds and vocals.

So far his output has been nothing short of excellent and his latest EP 'Household Goods EP' suggests he still has plenty in the locker
