RA 178 - Fever Ray

As a huge fan of The Knife and Karin Dreijer Andersson's side project Fever Ray, it's a pleasant surprise to see her put out a mix for the latest Resident Advisor podcast.

You can grab it by clicking here, but you have to be a member of Resident Advisor to access it. Then again you should definately sign up regardless as it's one of the best dance music websites around.

The track selection is pretty leftfield which is to be expected, but with a few spooky Halloween inspired tracks in there too.

WeAreBlahBlahBlah EP20 - Mixed by A1 Bassline

A1 Bassline has been gradually rising to the top with his distinctive brand of heavy bassline electro. Already he has had the likes of Kissy Sellout, Rob Da Bank, Annie Mac and a whole host of non Radio 1 names dropping his records, and with his recent EP on Southern Fried, a tour round Australia, sets at Matter and Warehouse Project this is one bassline junky who has only just begun to define his sound and our dancefloors.

A1 played for us a few months back and he has been promising us an exclusive mix for sometime and finally it is here, Download and enjoy.....

Riva Starr - I was Drunk EP / Exclusive Mixtape

We have been an admirer of Mr Starr for sometime and with his upcoming Blah Blah Blah gig in mind he has passed us an exclusive new mixtape to share with you all (see link below).

For the unititated Riva Starr has been making significant waves for the last couple of years with his own productions such as Conga, Maria, I Jack U and some mental bootlegs and remixes including the massive Fatboy Slim - Rock a Fellar Skank, The Gossip - Love Long Distance and Renaissance Man - What is Guru to name a few. His meddling doesnt stop there with his sets littered with un-released booties and Riva Starr personal set enhancing edits.....

Riva's debut album is due to drop in early 2010 and in the build up Riva has released the excellent I was Drunk EP (Out Now Beatport). Check the link below to hear the new EP and download the exclusive October mixtape.

Boys Noize - Essential Mix (Oct 09)

One of the most eagerly anticipated Essential Mix's of recent times, Boys Noize aka Alex Ridha, took to the decks to provide us with 2 hours that he promises is mixed mainly on vinyl. With his new album Power out this month it is somewhat surprising that the mix includes none of his own productions. Instead we are treated to a journey that starts off in jackin house territory before gradually building as it dips in and out of genres as far ranging as dubstep, techno and disco. It's probably one of the boldest mixes of the year as it shows off many of Ridha's influences yet features little of his trademark noisey electro and techno hybrid sound. Essential listening right here.

Acid Girls - The Numbers Song

Acid Girls are new to us but on evidence of this track these guys are set for big things. The Numbers Song is a huge track that devastates the dance floor in a noisy electro riff which harks back to those heady Ed Banger days. Refreshingly noisy and an exciting development in this type of sound.......more please.

MAGiCBAG MUSiC - Sampler Pt1.

Wax:On is 5 years old this November and in those years it has firmly established itself as one of the UK's most important nights for those serious about their electro, dubstep and anything new that is breaking through. This year the brains and beauty behind Wax:On launched the Wax:On and MagicBag record labels. Wax:On records debuted with Doorly's debut EP 'Toys' and now Magicbag storms into the market with Sampler Pt1 which features Wax:On resident People Get Real's first release.

Robin Hood is our pick, a real deep techno builder with plenty of atmosphere that is already a favorite with the likes of Brodinski, Steve bug, & DJ Hell.
