La Roux - Bulletproof (Midfield General Remix)

It would appear that La Roux is fulfilling her early hype with some solid success, all though it is fair to say that a succession of top remixes have certainly helped her cause, and her latest single Bulletproof is no different with the likes of Tepr, DJ Zinc and Foamo all impressing......

However one remix that amazingly didnt make it to the final cut is Midfield Generals superb throbbing ravey electro cut. We love it so much that we managed to convince Midfield General to send us a full 320kbps version to give away. This track is so good that it recently featured in Tiga's Top Ten.

WeAreBlahBlahBlah EP16 - Mixed by In Flagranti

Upcoming Blah Blah Blah guest In Flagranti have put together an exclusive mix for the WeAreBlahBlahBlah series which can only be described as an irreverent balance of disco, sex, dirt, distortion and tounge-in-cheek humor, all wrapped up in a gritty 70’s aesthetic.....well thats how the album has been described and this mix certainly lives up to that explanation.

In Flagranti have just released there second album Brash & Vulgar from which we charted the title track last month 'Brash & Vulgar', a track that has even had a royal Erol (Disco 3000) reshuffle.

Click on the mix artwork to listen to the mix or subscribe to our podcast series through iTunes by clicking here.

Priors - What You Need

Nice bit of updated filter house from French duo Priors. The vocal heavy extended mix definately has their summer feel too it. Amongst the distorted bassline of the French scene prevailent in recent years, this track will most certainly take you back to the days when Roule ruled the dance scene. So sit back, listen and hope for a good summer.

Essential Mix - Laurent Garnier

Something a bit different from us, however Laurent Garnier is a bit of an electronic legend and he is gracing The Brighton Beach Down Festival this year, so get set for a spectacular mix in two halves from the Gallic genius.

Part one is all about the dancefloor, whilst part 2 is an eclectic mix of tunes which inspired Laurent when he was making his new album Tales of a Kleptomaniac. This mix demonstrates Laurent Garnier's insatiable appetite for good music blending Techno, Blues, Hip Hop, and Drum and Bass all into one mix.

Tales of a Kleptomaniac is out now, check Juno Download to listen and purchase the album. Click the link below to download the mix.

Mothership - Voodeux Album - The Paranormal

Mothership the sister Label of Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird have been pushing the techno / tech house / minimal envelop for sometime now, with the likes of Italoboyz, Catz n Dogz and Claude Von Stroke himself drawing international acclaim from the underground dance scene. Next up is Voodeux who are just releasing their debut album 'The Paranromal'.

The Paranormal” is a concentrated vision of myth and mysterious beats, exploring the eerie after-life side of techno like no other artists have done to date. Using dark funk, ghoulish atmospheres and futuristic production........not for the faint hearted!!!

Voodeux - The Paranormal (Mothership)

The album is officially out on vinyl June 2nd and will be on Beatport and CD June 10th, however to help give you a flavour of what to expect check the track clips below and the exclusive Voodeux Mixtape.

Minimix Competition - How many artists can you name?

Stand a chance to win a Blah Blah Blah T-Shirt. These were an extremely limited run, you can see a picture of Riva Starr with one below.

We are giving away three t-shirts to the three winners of the following competition. Listen to our new minimix below and email us with a list of the artists whose songs we included in the mix. We don't want the name of the song or the remixers, just the artist who made the original song. They are some obvious ones in their, a few less well know and their are even some tiny samples to throw you off the scent of victory. The three people with the most correctly listed artists will each win a t-shirt in the size and colour of their choice, well white or black with pink font!!!

Due to postage costs we ask that we only receive entrants from UK. Apologies to all our foreign friends. The competition will run till next week and the winners can either pick up their shirt at our next party or we'll pop it in the post. Please title emails "Minimix Competition" and add your full name in the email. Our email address is blahblahblah_brighton@hotmail.co.uk. Good luck!

Yuksek - Extraball Remixed

A couple of months back Yuksek organised a remix contest for his single "Extraball". It's a fairly common thing for artists to do these days. The likes of Digitalism, Grum and DatA have all released elements of their tracks for contests, even heavyweights like Radiohead and Beck have done this in the past.

There are a couple of official remixes of this track floating around (check out the Pilooski and Breakbot mixes) but we thought we'd show off some of the better remixes from the unknown and upcoming producers.

Mr Vega creates a buzzing take on the track, with Zombie Nation style synths stabbing behind the vocals.

Yuksek - Extraball (Mr Vega Remix)

aUtOdiDakt's remix is more inline with the French electro feel of the original, introducing a more analogue bass line and squelching synths.

Yuksek - Extraball (aUtOdiDakt Remix)

TMX offers us probably the most rapid departure from the original turning it into a fidget house monster. Amanda Blank's vocals work especially well over the wobbly bassline and the drops are sure to go down well on a peak time dancefloor. This Hungarian producer is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Yuksek - Extraball (TMX Remix)

Don't forget you can catch Yuksek at Blah Blah Blah on Saturday 23rd May. We are extremely excited about getting one of our favourite producers down to play.
