XYZ Magazine Review of The Presets @ Blah Blah Blah When did the Aussies get so damn good at electronic music? France may have Daft Punk and Justice but snapping at their heels come great acts from the land down under. The Rapture got the ball rolling, White Denim support act Pivet rocked out on laptops at a recent Audio set, you've got Cut Copy and now two Sydney-based producers known as The Presets. The Australian duo rocked Brighton's Digital like it ought to be rocked on a Friday night. The Presets are Kim Moyes and Julian Hamilton and share the same label as the aforementioned Cut Copy, Modular. Their debut album ‘Beams’ came out ... Read more / Preview track

The Black Ghosts (Live) – Pictures Another crazy night at Blah Blah Blah on Saturday 5th July, saw The Black Ghosts play an amazing 2 hour set to a packed house. Touche was on top form playing an all out party set that combined their own material (which Simon Lord sang over) and the hottest and wonkiest tracks around. Speculation was high on the night that Touche is infact the producer of the moment Fake Blood, and he did little to dispell these rumours by playing pretty much every Fake Blood track available! Here are a selection of photos from the night, all taken by Sam Hiscox of DayGlo Poster. To see the rest please join ... Read more / Preview track

Usher feat. Young Jeezy – Love in this Club (STA Bootleg) The MSTRKRFT remix of "Love in This Club" was an electro hip-hop slab of cheddar (whats happened to them recently?) and suggested that this recent melding of hip-hop and electro is probably a fad that'll die in a couple of months. The song's cheesey lyrics probably make it unworkable into a real club banger, but Canadian producer Sta has done a good job. It's not quite touching the dizzy heights of his previous Timberland remix of "Give it to Me" which is still one of our favourite warm-up tracks. Usher feat. Young Jeezy - Love in this Club (Sta Bootleg) ... Read more / Preview track

Black Ghosts – Black Ghosts (Released 7th July) "Spookily brilliant electro collaboration"... The hype has been building for the last 12 months with a slew of singles, remixes, mixtapes and stomping live performances. The waiting is over with the full album released this Monday, and DJ Mag (see below) agree with us that this is an essential addition to your record collection. Given BG is a collaboration between Simon Lord and Theo Keating, a few surprises are more or less hidden in the tin. Even so, there should be more warning about how varied and, in parts, enjoyable and (hooray!) Kinks-like this ride is. Opening with the downbeat ... Read more / Preview track
